HMRC publishes new rules for online filing of corporation tax
22 June 2009
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has issued new draft regulations on the online filing of corporation tax.
The rules amend the regulations that were set out in 2003.
Under the new system, businesses will have to observe compulsory rules on the way that corporation tax returns are submitted and payments are made.
The compulsory rules cover the online filing of company tax returns using XBRL standard for all returns delivered after 31 March 2011 for accounting periods ending after 31 March 2010, and the electronic payment of all corporation tax liabilities after 31 March 2011.
The draft amendments can be found at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/drafts/draft-ct-online.pdf and http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/drafts/mandatory-of.pdf
